A big surprise was presented at Wednesday's "3 On Your Side" community shredding event at Carpinteria High School. It's another example of "What's Right." Santa Barbara Bank and Trust presented a $5,000 check to the High School's Agricultural Program. Proposed budget cuts have been up for discussion during school board meetings recently, where staff cutbacks were being considered. The school has offered agricultural classes and a "Future Farmers of America" chapter since the 1950s. To date, our "3 On Your Side" community shredding events have collected more than 37 tons of documents that identity thieves will never get a chance to steal. If you missed today's shredding event in Carpinteria, the next one will take place August 15.
