California Polytechnic State University President Jeffrey Armstrong is speaking out on changing the school to a semester-based academic calendar.
Armstrong says he appointed a task force in September to investigate what would be involved in making the change.
Cal Poly would not convert from quarter to semesters until the other campuses have gone forward.
If all goes as planned, Cal Poly would begin the process of converting to semesters by 2020.
