Boxer, Fiorina Spar Over Jobs In U.S. Senate Race

Written by KEYT Anchor

California Sen. Barbara Boxer attacked her Republican opponent's record on job creation while campaigning in Santa Barbara Tuesday night.

Boxer, a Democrat who is seeking a fourth term in the Senate, says Carly Fiorina enriched herself while laying off thousands of employees when she was head of computer giant Hewlitt-Packard Co.

Boxer is on a two-day campaign swing across California to talk about jobs, which she says is the No. 1 issue in the election.

She's touting a plan to create clean-technology and transportation jobs, and says she wants to end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.

Fiorina's campaign says the only job Barbara boxer is focused on saving is her own and adds that Boxer's promises to bring jobs to California have not been fulfilled.

Fiorina, who touts a conservative platform, has received backing from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
