CARPINTERIA, Calif. - A fire led to an evacuation at a Best Western hotel. It happened at the Best Western in Carpinteria just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters say it started in the pantry of a third floor kitchen near a bar. Firefighters from Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District were able put it out fast.
One of the evacuated guests left Las Vegas on Saturday the day before the shooting. She is from Switzerland and says she won’t forget this trip.
Fire crews say they still don't know what started the fire. They say most of the damage is water damage from the sprinklers.
The hotel is located on the 4500 block of Carpinteria Avenue.
Crews from Montecito Fire Protection District, Ventura County Fire and Santa Barbara City Fire were also dispatched to the fire.
