SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

With New Years resolutions underway, now is your chance to get in shape and do it all for a good cause. Fit Body Bootcamp, a fitness facility on upper State Street in Santa Barbara is offering a special 4-week weight loss challenge. Participants will receive an orientation, a body assessment, and meal plans during this month long competition.

Fifty percent of all signup fees will be donated to the Foodbank of Santa Barbara along with $1 for each pound participants lose.

Fit Body Bootcamp owner, Marianna Sarkisova says they've seen their clients lose 8-10 pounds in a month. Also, since participants are divided into teams, there's a lot of accountability within the group.

Melissa Howard, Foodbank's community leadership coordinator, is thrilled with this first-time collaboration. She says it's all an effort to help our community get healthy. For each dollar that's donated, the Foodbank can generate $17 worth of healthy food for those in need. The Foodbank provides food for over 300 local non-profits in the county.

The challenge costs $99 to participate, and the last day to sign up is Saturday. The winning team will receive $600. The competition starts January 13th and runs to February 9th.
