Slideshow: Edison Fire Burning in Ventura County

Multiple agencies are working a 10-20 acre brush fire near Ventura.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 10900 block of Foothill Road around 11:18 a.m. Thursday.

Ventura County Fire officials said the brush is on fire underneath power lines. Two air tankers are making water drops on the fire.

Los Angeles County Fire units are also on scene. Officials are calling this the Edison Fire.

On Wednesday the Ventura County Fire Department demonstrated the tools it will be using to help battle what is expected to be an intense wildfire season.

Slideshow; Bear Spotted in Fillmore Tranquilized

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office said the bear was first spotted just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday near Fillmore Middle School on 2nd street.

When deputies arrived the bear took off, leading them on a several block chase.

The bear was safely tranquilized by California Department of Fish and Wildlife authorities at 6:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Valley Vista.
