Royal family analyst Richard Mineards weighs in on Prince Harrys engagment

Mineards: Markle getting good feedback from Brits

MONTECITO, Calif. - Royal Family analyst and Montecito Journal columnist Richard Mineards says he's been waiting for Prince Harry to pop the question to American actress Meghan Markle.

"I suspect the wedding will be in May or June of next year," said Mineards. "Some people say they might have a non-traditional wedding. If they did I suspect it would be in Africa."

"He's been going out with Megan Markle for a year and it's very interesting drawing the comparisons," added Mineards. "Just think that 80 years ago the idea of marrying an American divorcee would have lost the king his throne. This shows how fast forward we are now. The whole social scheme has changed. I think for the better."

Mineards believes that the couple will continue to live in the cottage that Prince Harry proposed, but will move into bigger quarters shortly after.

"I've heard rumors that the Duke of Gloucester had a big family there," said Mineards. "It's a 27 room apartment and when the couple gets married they will move there and they will also be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

As for the ring, it was completely designed by Prince Harry himself. And he added a little piece of his mother.

"He has a diamond from Botswana, his great love of Africa, and also some diamonds from his mother Princess Diana's collection," said Mineards.

In a statement, Queen Elizabeth along with Prince Philip said they are delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness. Mineards also says the British public couldn't be happier.

"Markle is getting a lot of good feedback from the British public," said Mineards. "The British public is very judgmental and if they don't like you they let you know, but Harry is very popular and I think that will pass on to Meghan."
