CAPRINTERIA, Calif. - A new senior living center opened its doors to future tenants and the community Saturday during a ribbon cutting ceremony in Carpinteria.
GranVida Senior Living and Memory Care is the only center of its kind in the small beachfront town.
The living center is located in a completely renovated office building at 5464 Carpinteria Ave.
Community members were able to tour the grounds and were treated to live music and food samplings.
Chef Ken Seidle created the menu which promises to be full-flavored and conform to dietary restrictions.
GranVida also announced a donation to the "Save the Rest of the Bluffs" fund, a campaign that aims to conserve the remaining coastline in Carpinteria.
