SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara's first wedding and lifestyle magazine is on newsstands now.
Flutter Magazine was founded and produced in Santa Barbara by local businesswomen Kim Wiseley and Tracy Lazaro.
The debut issue is filled with real and inspirational weddings, all styled by local artists, designers, photographers and wedding planners. Flutter Magazine's creators say their muse is and always will be Santa Barbara. They also hope to reach a nationwide audience. Wiseley says, "We would love to see people from all over the country come here and get married here. But, if they can't, we think that Santa Barbara style can be implemented anywhere."
The idea to create a wedding and lifestyle magazine started about a year ago with their website www.fluttermag.com. Santa Barbara is a wedding and vacation destination and Wiseley and Lazaro saw an opening in the market. "There's so much going on in Santa Barbara in relation to weddings, parties and chic gatherings. There was nothing really featuring that or highlighting that so we wanted to fill that void," said Wiseley.
The website was a success and has now expanded to print. The pair plan to keep their digital presence, but they also plan to release Flutter Magazine four times a year.
The magazine and website isn't just about weddings. You can also find D-I-Y projects, style tips, recipes and ideas to plan your next party.
Copies of the current issue are being distributed from Santa Ynez to Los Angeles. You can get a copy of Flutter Magazine at the headquarters located at 110 West Mission Street in Santa Barbara. It's also available at Pierre Lafond in Montecito, and at La Tavola Linens on State Street. You can also order a copy on the website at http://www.fluttermag.com/.
The next issue of Flutter Magazine hits newsstands this winter.
