Isla Vista non-profits benefit from large scale GIVE sale over the weekend

Thousands of leftover item were available

ISLA VISTA, Calif. - The annual Isla Vista GIVE sale benefited non-profits in the densely populated community with all the proceeds going to the local charities.

The sale takes place every year a week after graduation.   Residents, mainly students, who are moving out donate anything they have that's not going with them, to the sale.

That includes furniture, electronics, clothing, seasonal items, kitchen ware and jewelry.

Vivian Marsano with the UCSB Office of Student Life says everything is organized in sections, and some of the newer items are in a special boutique.

Prices mainly range from $1.00  to $15.00.  TV's were about $70.00 and bikes were $60.00.

All of the money raised in the two day sale, which is expected to be in the thousands,  will go to Isla Vista non-profits.

Leftover items will go to the Goodwill.
