NIPOMO, Calif. - Classic cars and vendors from across the Central Coast revved up fundraising in Nipomo Sunday.
In the Automotive Concours event at Monarch Dunes, over a thousand people came to admire the cars, food trucks and vendors, all to raise money for Nipomo High School athletics and Nipomo's Food Basket.
Event organizers say the event this year has grown magnificently more than last year when they raised $5,500. This weekend, they're hoping for over $20,000.
Nipomo High's cheer coach Jessica Leek says they're so grateful for the help from the community.
"All of our athletic programs need funding, Leek said. "We're trying to buy new equipment, new uniforms and anything that can really build all of our programs so the more donations that we get, the better it helps all of us."
Trilogy volunteers say they expect next years event to be even bigger and welcome people to contact them if they want to get involved.
