SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After a weekend of stringing lights and making connections, the 110-foot tall Star Pine tree has been lit up in Santa Barbara for the holidays. The switch was thrown on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m.
The work was done by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 413.
They have been providing this service for about 90 years.
Hundreds of colorful low power use lights are strung from the tree that can be seen from many areas of town.
The tree is adjacent to the Ralph’s parking lot on Chapala and Carrillo Streets.
