OXNARD, Calif. - 'Tis the season for tamales.
Fans of the 10th Annual Oxnard Tamale Festival call it a Christmastime tradition.
Tamale vendors from all around the California competed to win festival trophies on Saturday at Oxnard's Plaza Park.
Some people enjoyed their tamales in the park and others took them home.
Tamales can take up to six hours to make.
Some festival-goers said they enjoy making tamales with family members during the holidays.
The long steaming time gives relatives plenty of time to get caught up on the lives of the people they love.
