McConnell's, Rori's Ice Cream giving away free scoops to evacuees, first responders

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Two local ice cream shops are stepping up to the plate and providing those affected by the recent mudslides with a sweet treat.

McConnell's Fine Ice Creams in Santa Barbara will be handing out free scoops of ice cream to mudslide evacuees and first responders on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

"We've got hugs, coffee and unicorn sprinkles, too. We're looking forward to seeing you," they posted on their Facebook page.

"Our heart is aching for our friends, neighbors and first responders who have been dealing with the unimaginable consequences of the mudslides in Montecito," reads their Facebook post.

If you have been evacuated or are a first responder, visit McConnell's located at 728 State Street for a free scoop of ice cream.

Additionally, Rori's Artisinal Ice Cream located inside the Santa Barbara Public Market at 38 W. Victoria Street is also handing out free scoops to evacuees and first responders. Be sure to pay them a visit for a delicious treat and your choice from a plethora of unique flavors.
