CARPINTERIA, Calif. - The California Avocado Festival poster has been revealed in Carpinteria a month before the event takes place.

Emily Crosby, a graphic artist from Northridge, won the poster contest.

She was honored last night

Her work has a "Summer of Love" flair to it. The poster will be part of all the event's ads, t-shirts and signs.

The Avocado Festival is in its 31st year. It covers three days beginning October 6th.

The event is free and draws an estimated 100-thousand visitors.

This year the schedule will include over 60 bands, the annual guacamole contest, and the avocado ice cream.
