SOLVANG, Calif. - Good Samaritans stumbled upon and then rescued two dogs left inside a hot car in Solvang Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses said the truck's owner was eating lunch at a restaurant on the 600 block of Alamo Pintado Road.
The doors of the vehicle were unlocked which allowed rescuers and authorities to access without having to break any windows.
Sheriff's deputies and a local veterinarian responded and immediately took care of the overheated dogs.
Deputies questioned the owner but the dogs were eventually returned.
One deputy believes the outside temperature was around 94 degrees at the time.
It's unclear at this time if the owner of the dogs will face any charges.
