CARPINTERIA, Calif. - A local 13-year-old boy did more than just compete in Sunday morning's Carpinteria Triathlon.
Jacob Mansbach and his brother Joseph led their team to raise money for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County's children's programs.
Jacob has competed six times in the triathlon and he's hoping to reach his goal of raising $10,000 before the end of the month.
Jacob has been volunteering at the food bank since he was 8 years old.
He says he wants to raise money for all the kids who don't know when they will see their next meal.
"If you didn't know where your next meal will come from, you don't know if you're gonna have dinner at night -- that's why I like to give back," Mansbach said.
Over the past six years, Jacob and his teammates have raised $70,000 for the FoodBank of Santa Barbara County.
