Jesse James Case Meets Another Road Block
An accused killer has appeared in Santa Barbara Superior court under heavy security in a case facing more lengthy delays.
New information has emerged which could give the high profile trial of Jesse James Hollywood a new spotlight. A book on Hollywood's case has been written and may be coming out soon, which has made the Defense Attorney James Blatt very concerned. As for the murder case involving Hollywood, there will be no trial this year but issues pertaining to evidence and the collection of information are still on-going. Judge Brian Hill agreed to allow both sides to continue key work on the case even though there's a dispute that's heading to the State Supreme Court. The high court will be asked to change Prosecutors and go with the State Attorney Generals Office instead of the County District Attorney's Office because a local prosecutor who allegedly shared key case files with the Hollywood movie producer who made the film Alpha Dog. Hollywood left court surrounded by heavy security and Deputies armed with rifles. He was taken back to jail in an escorted vehicle. Hollywood was allegedly the mastermind in the murder of teenager Nicholas Markowitz in August 2000 in the Goleta Hills, reportedly after a drug debt dispute with Markowitz's step-brother. Four others involved in the case have been caught and are serving time. KEY NEWS Senior Reporter John Palminteri has the latest. |
