Residents Get Second Chance At Vaccinating Against Swine Flu
Santa Barbara, CA-- There will be more opportunities to get vaccinated against the H1N1 virus this week.
On Monday Santa Barbara County Public Health Department will hold a vaccine clinic at Earl Warren Showgrounds from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday's clinic will offer the vaccine to those classified as high risk. Last week the Health Department received a shipment close to 50,000 doses. Over the weekend, 800 people turned out in Carpinteria for doses of the vaccine. Later this week, additional swine flu vaccine clinics will be held in Santa Maria and Lompoc. A clinic is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Lompoc, at the Lompoc Public Health Clinic. And a second clinic for Santa Maria residents will be held Saturday, November 21st from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Santa Maria Public Clinic. Health officials say those who arrive earliest face the longest wait. They suggest coming about two hours later in order to avoid the long lines. For more information you can call the Health Department at 1-888-722-6358. |
