Mountain Lion Seen In Downtown San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo, CA-- Police say a mountain lion was seen early Thursday morning near the intersection of Chorro and Mission.

The cat was spotted by a resident around 3 a.m. scampering up a tree, with what looked like a small piglet in it's mouth.

When police arrived on scene, they did spot the mountain lion before it ran off in an unknown direction.

According officers the big cat did not threaten or harm any people or pets in the area.

Residents are encouraged to call the Police Department if they do see the wild animal again.
