Carjacking Suspect Considered Armed And Dangerous
San Luis Obispo, CA-- Authorities are looking for a 23-year-old parole who allegedly carjacked and kidnapped a San Luis Obispo woman Wednesday night.
Police say Ryan Joseph Soqui, forced himself into the victim's car around 8:45 p.m. while she was stopped at the intersection of Campus Way and Crandall near Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. According to the victim, Soqui pulled a gun on the victim and told her to drive, as he took her cell phone and ATM card from her purse. Soqui demanded the woman to get on the freeway and drive south. After exiting at Los Osos Valley Road, Soqui ordered the woman at gunpoint to drive to an ATM. Once out of the car and walking to an ATM in the Foothill Plaza, the victim was able to run into a nearby restaurant for help. Soqui then drove away in the victim's car. That's when police in Grover Beach saw Soqui driving the victims car. A short chase ensued and Soqui was able to jump out of the car and run from officers. Soqui remains at large, authorities say he is on parole and considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information about Soqui's whereabouts they are urged to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department or Crimestoppers at 805-549-7867. |
