Serious Injuries Suffered After Car Goes Over Side
Santa Barbara, CA-- A 23-year-old driver was pulled from his vehicle after it crashed through a guardrail and fell 100 feet off the roadway.
The accident happened just before 7:30 Monday morning on Highway 154 near Paradise Road. Santa Barbara County Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the lone victim from the wreckage. Authorities say it appears the man fell asleep at the wheel, which caused his vehicle to veer off the road. Once a helicopter hoisted the victim up to the roadway, he was transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation. |
