City Council Rejects Curfew
Carpinteria, CA-- Carpinteria's City Council has rejected a proposal to enact a daytime curfew for minors.
The proposal would have included fines and community service hours for students not in school. The three council members opposed to the amendment say law enforcement already questions minors who appear to be truant. The council will review its existing nighttime curfew regulations at a later date. Carpinteria is the only city in the county without a daytime loitering ordinance. |
