Ventura County Firefighter Faces Molestation Charges

An award-winning Ventura County firefighter is facing child molestation charges. Newbury Park resident Gary Robert Taylor, 42, was arrested December 15, 2008 on six felony counts of lewd acts on a child and one felony count of continuous sexual abuse.

Taylor most recently worked as a fire engineer at a Moorpark fire station. As a firefighter paramedic, he won the department's 2003 Annual Lifesaving Award.

Taylor is currently being held in Ventura County's main jail on $1 million bail. he is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, January 8, 2009.
