It takes a village to raise a child. That simple, but powerful philosophy is helping fuel a collaborative approach to help Santa Barbara neighborhoods deal with local gang violence. The idea is that by getting together, they'll be able to talk freely about their neighborhood's specific capabilities in addressing the city-wide issue of gang activity. One of these meetings was held Thursday night at the Presido Springs Community Center in Santa Barbara. The next meeting is scheduled for May 15th from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Westside Community center in Santa Barbara. The address is 423 West Victoria Street.
