Avoiding Scholarship Scams
School tuition fees can add up to more than $30,000 a year at some colleges. So it's no wonder many families rely on scholarships. But we're learning scholarship scams are on the rise. According to one college planning website people taken in by scholarship fraud lose a total of $100 million each year. But there are ways to protect yourself.
Educators also warn students to beware if a scholarship application requires personal information like credit cards.
