Officer Recovers After Fatal Crash
Witnesses speak out after seeing a fatal accident and officer down on the 101 northbound in Ventura.
Officer Anthony Pedeferri is now stablized and recovering from the accident after an SUV crashed into a driver in a Nissian he was ticketing Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the Nissian died on impact. He has been identified as 21-year-old Andreas Parra from Phoenix. Officials tell KEY NEWS he was on his way to Santa Barbara on a business trip for Univision Music. The man who crashed into them is Jeremy White of Paso Robles. He has been arrested on felony DUI charges. The 20-year-old was apparently drunk. The 101 northbound was shut down for over twelve hours from State Beach to Sea Cliff Wednesday night. Reports from CHP state that a passer-by stopped to do CPR on Officer Pedeferri and used his phone to contact the dispatch center. Thursday CHP held a Press Conference to tell of the amazing people who helped after the accident, before officials arrived on scene. KEY NEWS Reporter Regina Ruiz brings you the story. |
