Teacher Sentenced For Having Sex With Student

A Central Coast substitute teacher was sentenced to one year in jail and five years probation for having sex with a student.
29-year-old Kelli Jo Camp was arrested on May 29th and charged with having sex with a 17-year-old male student at Cuyama Valley High School.
Camp pleaded no contest.
Investigators say in one case the victim even sent love letters to Camp.
The former sub also worked at Righetti High in Santa Maria and Lakeview Junior High in Orcutt.
During this morning's sentencing, Camp's defense attorney argued successfully that Camp won't have to register as a sex offender once she's released from jail.
Camp was immediately taken into custody following the sentencing.
