Rudy Carpenter Fighting For Spot On Tampa Bay's Roster

Carpenter Has Had A Strong NFL Preseason

Written by KEYT Sports

Former Westlake High School star Rudy Carpenter has had a solid preseason for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but that still may not be enough to earn an active roster spot.

Last weekend the third-string quarterback threw the game-winning touchdown pass with under four minutes to play to lead the Bucs to a win over Miami. Carpenter will start this Thursday in the team's final exhibition game at Washington.

The team is deciding whether to keep two or three quarterbacks on the active roster. Carpenter graduated Westlake in 2004 after leading the Warriors to a 14-0 CIF Championship season.
