Dons Trying For More Improvement In Football

After starting a dozen sophomores in 2010, the Santa Barbara Dons hope the growing pains are over as they enter this season in high school football.

One of those sophomores was quarterback Shawn Ramos who has been named a captain this year. He will need better play from the offensive line as he had to often throw on the run last year which led to 16 interceptions.

The Dons won just two games in 2010 but that was an improvement from 2009 when they went winless. With so many returning starters, Santa Barbara expects to have success in 2011.

They open the year on September 2 at Channel Islands.
