POSTED: 01:38 PM PDT May 16, 2014

Scott Hennessee co-anchors the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. news on KCOY, and the 10 p.m. news on Fox 11. He returns to the Central Coast after spending a decade in the desert of Southern California.

Scott began his television career at KEYT as a freelance reporter while he was attending UC Santa Barbara. "I am so excited to be back," he says.

Prior to joining KCOY, Scott was a reporter and weekend news anchor for CBS Local 2 in Palm Springs. He also spent more than three years as anchor and reporter of the nightly program, "Eye on the Desert," and five years as the station's sports director.

During his time in Palm Springs, Scott anchored live coverage of everything from fires and floods to international film and music festivals to world-class professional sporting events.

Scott's first full-time job in television was with KREX in Grand Junction, Colo., where he was a reporter and sports anchor.

Scott and his wife, Renee, met while they were working for the UCSB student newspaper. They are looking forward to exploring all the Central Coast has to offer with their two young children.
